Hazelnut catkins

a very quick plein air painting of my hazel. I wasn't sure about this one - thought it was a bit too much on the rough & ready side perhaps - but looking at it on the computer, I think it might grow on me. Ok - don't overpaint and re-use canvas, then. Wait to dry, and maybe clean up the background with a glaze.

What do you think? Does it make me look like I'm 8 years old again?
